A. Hillary Grosberg
A. Hillary Grosberg has been practicing law as a litigator and trial attorney since 1981, over 20 years. She founded the Law Offices of A. Hillary Grosberg in 1993 so that she could represent individuals and enterprises, large and small, in all types of business disputes.
She earned her undergraduate degree from UCLA and her law degree from the University of West Los Angeles, School of Law. She served as Editor-in-Chief of the law review and graduated in the top 10% of her class. Ms. Grosberg is admitted in all state and federal trial and appellate courts in California as well as the United States Supreme Court.
For over fourteen years, in addition to her practice, Ms. Grosberg taught trial preparation, contract, business law, real property, torts, evidence, bankruptcy, discovery, civil procedure, legal research, and appellate procedure courses in various community colleges and paralegal schools. She also taught an introduction to law course at a law school.
Her practice includes all phases of litigation from pre litigation counseling to trial and appeal in the areas of business, real estate, bankruptcy, creditors' rights and probate. Ms. Grosberg has litigated claims objections and preference actions in the bankruptcy court (one in which she successfully defended an alleged $15 million exposure), the ownership of a family business in probate court, as well as various business disputes in state and federal courts.
She also offers mediation services and sits as a judge pro tem, arbitrator and mediator for the Los Angeles County Superior Courts. As a mediator, Ms. Grosberg has successfully brought parties to settlement of over 50 cases.
Ms. Grosberg is active in her community, sitting on various boards of charitable organizations in leadership positions such as president, secretary and treasurer. A few of these organizations include Habitat for Humanity, Women Lawyers' Association of Los Angeles and California Women Business Owners. She is a member of the Los Angeles Bar Association and San Fernando Valley Bar Association (in which she sits on the committee overseeing its referral service). Ms. Grosberg also speaks to various groups on legal issues.
